Garlic Knots
I LOVE THESE!!!!
After tweaking for a few weeks ….. I finally got it! One bite and I was so totally hooked. These are so, so good! You simply must make them.
Garlic knots are a tasty snack made from pizza dough that’s been shaped into knots, baked, and brushed with garlic butter and herbs. They’re crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and they’ve got a strong garlic buttery flavour that’s super yummy. They’re usually served as an appetizer or as a side for pasta dishes and sometimes sprinkled with cheese or other seasonings for extra flavour.
If you love garlic and bread, garlic knots are definitely worth a try!
Shaping your Garlic Knots
It is really easy, if you can tie a knot, you can definitely shape these babies. After the dough rises, punch it down to release the air. Then begin shaping the dough.
- Shape the dough into a 27cm flat log – near enough is good enough!
- Cut into roughly 2cm strips
- Roll each strip into a 24cm rope (roughly)
- Tie the rope into a knot, tuck tails under and place on line baking tray.
Here are step-by-step pictures of the shaping process.
STORING
Store leftover knots in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Re heat in a pre heated oven (200 degrees fan) or a microwave for 30 secs – 1 minutes.
FREEZING AHEAD
These knots freeze beautifully!
Shape the knots, unglazed, and arrange on a lined baking sheet. Freeze, uncovered, for 1–2 hours and place them into a freezer-friendly zipped-locked bag. Freeze for up to 3 months.
Thaw in the fridge or on the counter. Bring to room temperature, arrange on lined baking trays, cover lightly, and allow to rest/rise for 1 hour before brushing with garlic, herb butter and baking.
HOW TO SERVE
