Up & GoGo

Up & GoGo

This is one of the very first recipes I created in my Thermomix! My two boys loved a similar drink that I bought from the local supermarket but it was just too small and too expensive. It also had things in that I preferred them not to have. :0

So after experimenting and involving them in taste testing, we developed Up and GoGo. Jack my youngest had fun naming it! It was such a fun time involving them in the creation of this drink and thoughts of it always bring a smile to my face.

They would make it themselves in the Thermomix, pour into their ‘Go Cup’ and drink on the way to school. Of course my Thermomix was not cleaned, but I really didn’t mind. I knew they had a great start to their day!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Just six ingredients. Simple staples that you probably have on hand now!

Collettes Thermie Kitchen

Milk: one of the most nutritious drinks in the world. It’s not only rich in high-quality protein but also an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, vitamin B12, and riboflavin. You can sub this for your preferred alternative milk of course!

Ice Cubes: to help cool down the drink.

Honey: a natural sweetener, better than sugar.

Weetbix: with a delicious malty flavour and the goodness of wholegrain wheat, its a great addition to this drink and to help kick-start the day.

Banana:  are one of the most popular fruits worldwide. They contain essential nutrients that can have a protective impact on health and they taste great!

Milo: Milo was first created in Australia by Thomas Mayne in 1934. It’s Australia’s most iconic drink and now exported around the world. Milo powder is a malt chocolate flavoured powder designed to be a “fortified tonic food” full of vitamins and minerals. It was made to help children receive all their nutritional needs. Milo is made by evaporating the water from the syrup of malted wheat or barley. When this is done it leaves behind the crunchy powder of milo. The cocoa is added for flavour. Bonus …. kids love it!

TIPS
